About the Wichita Art Museum

Established in 1935, the Wichita Art Museum focuses on American art and is nationally known for its excellence. Elizabeth Stubblefield Navas, business associate and good friend of Louise Caldwell Murdock, chose items of American art for the museum from 1939 through 1962. The renowned collection now numbers 10,000 pieces, including Thomas Hart Benton’s work.

To that subject, the museum's online archives contain a massive collection of artworks by Thomas Hart Benton, most of which may be viewed on the Wichita Art Museum’s online catalog.
