The Library of Congress is the de facto national library of the United States of America. It houses 25 million cataloged books, 15.5 million other print items, 4.2 million recordings, 74.5 million manuscripts, 5.6 million maps, and 8.2 million sheet music pieces in more than 470 languages, making it one of the largest libraries in the world.
